 ​Being a gorilla mom to seven babies started my love of these gentle giants. I went on to become the first mom and teacher to the sweetest of all gorillas, Michael, the companion of the now famous signing gorilla, Koko. 

This began my journey into the inner lives of many wonderful species such as lions, vultures, bush babies, bears, orangutans, eagles and squirrels!

I am pleased to announce my latest book, thirty years in the making, "Tales From Gorilla Girl-The Magic and Mystery of My Life with Animals"  This chonicles my career of over thirty five years tending to the physical and emotional needs of non-human animals in my care. 

I started as a young enthusiastic zoo keeper in 1970 when zoos were at their worst and starting to recognise animals needed more than housing, good food, and medical care. I knew they needed me to help make the best of life in captivity.
